The Villamar Firm PLLC is a Virginia-based boutique law firm focused entirely on Intellectual Property Law. We help inventors, founders, creators, and established companies protect what they build — from patents and trademarks to copyrights, trade secrets, and the tangle of legal questions that come with software, artificial intelligence, the internet, and aviation and aerospace technology.

From Napkin to Airplane
We like working with bleeding-edge startups because we’re actual engineers. Our founder is a real electrical engineer who has taken inventions from napkin to airplane — including work on the flight computer for the YF-22 Raptor. That’s the kind of intellectual property counsel you get here.

Villamar means “Villa by the Sea,” but the domain was already taken by a resort in Mexico. With two Villamars in the practice, the plural Villa Mars was available — and it created the perfect mnemonic. Picture a villa on the planet Mars, and you’ll always remember how to find us.
